Congratulations to Tom Crudgington and Ethan McMullan who have been selected to represent Ireland at the World Mountain Racing Championships.
Last weekend Newcastle and District athletes took part in trial races over Seefin Mountain, near Ballyhoura, County Limerick. Both boys competed in the U20 trial and the challenging course put the runners to the test.
Tom Crudgington was first to the summit and opened a significant lead, enabling him to claim the position as Ireland’s number one junior mountain runner. Ethan McMullan also completed the course in good time and took 4th place, securing him a spot on the Irish team.
Both boys now look forward to the World Championships which will be held in Innsbruck-Stubai, Austria, between the 6th and 10th June. A superb achievement and we wish them the best of luck for the competition.
