BBC Ulster Two Minute Tales Short Story Competition

9th Dec 2022
We were thrilled this week to learn that Year 9 pupil, Sarah Glass has had her story shortlisted for the BBC Two Minute Tale competition. Sarah’s story, ‘The Lost Huntsman’ was entered in the 9-12 category and her story will now be voiced by an actor and made into an audio piece which will be broadcast on The Lynette Fay Show on BBC Radio Ulster on Tuesday 20th December 2022. It will also be available on the Two Minute Tales website. Sarah will also receive a framed illustration depicting a scene from her story and a framed certificate. Sarah is now in with a chance of being named overall winner in her age category and having her story made into an animation as well. The winner in each age category will be announced live on The Lynette Fay Show on Thursday 22nd December 2022. The BBC also came into school this week to record a compilation programme featuring all of the shortlisted stories in this year’s Two Minute Tales competition which will be broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster on Christmas Day. Some of our keen creative writers had the opportunity to take part in this recording. The group took time to discuss what they enjoyed about Christmas and what was most important to them at this time of year.
