Winners of the Maureen Donnelly Memorial Writing Competition

Congratulations to Louise Craig, Year 12, for successfully winning the Maureen Donnelly Memorial Writing Competition. The competition was launched by the St Patrick’s Centre to celebrate the life of Saint Patrick and explore how his writings and life are still relevant today. Louise won the KS4 category with her essay on ‘What can we learn from Saint Patrick’s experience of cultural identity, conflict and relationships’ and has been given £600. In the KS3 category, Leon Wilton, Year 9, claimed 3rd place with his poem about Saint Patrick’s life growing up as an immigrant in Ireland.
