William Awarded Prestigious Arkwright Scholarship

3rd Aug 2016

Year 13 student William Browne has been awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship.
Taking its name from the eighteenth century inventor and entrepreneur Sir Richard Arkwright, the Arkwright Scholarships Trust identifies, inspires and nurtures future leaders in Engineering, Computing and technical (as opposed to aesthetic) Design by awarding Arkwright Engineering Scholarships, through a rigorous selection process, to high-calibre students across the United Kingdom. Engineering Scholarships support pupils through their A Levels and encourage students to pursue Engineering, Computing or technical Design at university (or through a higher-level apprenticeship) and to take up careers in the field.
Every Scholarship is sponsored by industrial companies, universities, charitable trusts, trade associations, professional engineering institutions, the Armed Services, Worshipful Companies, industry regulators or personal donors.
The 2016 Scholarship Awards Ceremonies will be held in London and Edinburgh in October and November. These prestigious scholarships are awarded after a rigorous application and interview process. We congratulate William on this outstanding achievement.
