Pretty n Pink Charity Fundraiser

Last month Down High embraced our first ‘Pretty in Pink’ day. The school was awash with pink all in aid of raising awareness and fundraising for different cancer charities. It was a busy day with a staff bake sale, face painting and other activities.

We offer a huge thank you to Chloe Magowan, Aoife Finnieston, Poppy Jeffers, Amy Spiers, Mrs McWilliams, Mrs Shilliday, Hannah Irvine, Olivia Fleming and Leda Amberson who all donated their hair. Together they have raised an impressive £2390! This was in addition to the money raised on the day by the rest of the staff and pupils bringing the combined total to £3068 - a fantastic amount!

We were pleased to welcome Naomi Braithwaite from Cancer Fund for Children and Aidan from Pretty n Pink Breast Cancer to school to present both charities with £1000. An additional £1068 is also being donated to the Little Princess Trust. Thank you to everyone that got involved, donated money and helped to make this event such a success.
