Local Artist Jennifer Cunningham Felt Class for Year 13
Monday 7th October. Year 13 art students were treated to a felting class held by Local Artist Jennifer Cunningham.
Jennifer is a textile artist based in the seaside village of Dundrum. From her little studio shed she creates quirky and unusual fabric art using mainly wool, stitch, and needle felting to make; scarves, jewelery, wearables, hangings, framed pieces and bespoke commissions, inspired by the beautiful country around her. More recently she has begun experimenting with pottery. She runs craft workshops and demos and has an etsy account 'Bofenny Textiles' where she sells her 'unique hand felted items from the heart of the Mournes'.
The Year 13s enjoyed learning needle felting techniques, a new medium most had not had the opportunity to work in before. Some students have been inspired to continue experimenting with felting in their own time.
