Home Economics Host MindWise Event
The Home Economics Department was delighted to host another inter-generational event with MindWise, a local organisation which works to support those at risk of, and affected by, severe mental illness and mental health difficulties.
The focus this year was to produce a range of dishes which promoted the use of NI produce, and to encourage the development of skills for independent living. Many of the recipes chosen were sourced from the Livestock and Meat Commission, who visit the school on an annual basis to carry out cookery demonstrations with our Year 10 pupils. They were extremely generous, and provided recipe books and shopping bags for all our guests.
Music was provided by Year 14 Health and Social Care pupils; Caitlin Thomson, Charis Gibson and our Head Girl, Jana Walsh.
