Down High School Celebrates Outstanding Achievements at Sentinus Young Innovators 2024
Down High School is proud to announce that Adam Broome has been awarded the Sentinus Young Innovators 2024 Young Engineer of the Year in the Senior category for his exceptional A2 Technology and Design project, a Thermal Airlock.
Additionally, James Wright and Daniel Gilmore received high commendations from the judging panel for their innovative AS Technology and Design redesigns of an iPad Stand and an Electric Fence Reeler.
The students navigated multiple rounds of rigorous evaluation by the judging panel, presenting their projects with remarkable composure and extensive knowledge.
Mr Mark Patton, Head of Technology and Design, stated:
"Our students faced a formidable array of outstanding displays and project work from various schools. The level of competition was exceptionally high, showcasing some of the finest work across Northern Ireland. As a school, we are extremely proud of the pupils' achievements and their professional interactions with the judges. I would particularly like to commend Adam for his remarkable award and achievement. His passion for Technology and Design has been evident throughout his time at Down High, and he is a truly deserving winner."
The Sentinus Young Innovators event is one of the most prestigious competitions in Northern Ireland, highlighting the best and brightest young minds in STEM. It provides a platform for students to demonstrate their innovative projects and gain recognition for their hard work and creativity.
