Down High Pupil is Soroptimist Regional Heat Winner for Second Year Running!
5th Dec 2019
Congratulations to Anna Freel (Year 12) who won the regional heat of the Soroptimist public speaking competition held on 28th November 2019. Anna fought off very stiff competition from a number of other excellent participants, and she spoke passionately on the topic of ‘Young women of today – is it a glass ceiling or a sticky floor?’
A special mention must also go to Rosa Morgan-Young, Eve Murtagh and Madison Rafferty (Year 12) who also participated and performed extremely well, speaking on the issues of ‘Overfed or underfed – a modern day issue!’ and ‘Domestic violence – silence is its greatest friend.’
Anna will now go on to compete in the Northern Ireland final in February. Well done girls!
