Children In Crossfire - Compassionate School Award
16th Oct 2022
We were delighted and honoured to have Richard Moore, founder of the charity “Children in Crossfire” join us last week. He gave a very powerful and thought provoking assembly to our senior pupils on his charity and the work they do in Ethiopia and Tanzania. He also shared a little of his own life story that led him to where he is today.
He continued this theme with the Year 13s and explained how his personal tragedy (being blinded by a rubber bullet in the 1970s) could have made him and his family embittered, but instead he chose a path of forgiveness and has worked tirelessly for true, heartfelt reconciliation.
Some Year 13 pupils presented a donation to him for Children in Crossfire and Mrs Perry received the “Compassionate School” bronze award. We are now developing our global citizenship programmes and hope to gain silver next!
