Calam, Caolan and Jake Represent NI Football at Major French Tournament
DOWN HIGH TRIO REPRESENT NORTHERN IRELAND SELECT TEAM
Three pupils from Down High School are ‘heading off’ to France to represent a NI Select Football Team at an ‘ELITE TOURNAMENT’ hosted by the French Football Association.
Caolan Lennon, Calam Mulqueen and Jake Finlay, all Year 8 pupils from the Downpatrick school, will be playing for Northern Ireland in games against teams such as; Bordeaux, Nantes, Lille, West Ham, NDSL Dublin as well as teams from two Chinese Academies. The tournament will involve forty teams, broken down into five groups. The first four teams in each group will progress to the major tournament and the second four from each group will play in the minor tournament.
During their time in France the boys will be hosted by French families and will have the opportunity to develop their French speaking skills alongside their football talents. We wish them every success in what is a huge achievement for them all.
