Year 13 Geography Pupils attend NI Science Festival Lecture

22nd Feb 2017

A group of Year 13 Geography pupils were invited, by the Geological Society, to attend a lecture by Professor Sanjeev Gupta from Imperial College London. This took place at Queen's University and was entitled "Exploring the Red Planet: Adventures of the Curiosity Rover". Professor Gupta delivered a truly enlightening lecture which demonstrated the incredible achievements of many scientists and engineers whose expertise has resulted in the successful launch and landing of the Curiosity Rover. This vehicle has been taking amazing photographs of Mars, as well as collecting data from the rocks and recording weather data, for the past four years. Incredible images of the surface of Mars as well as the Professor's suburb delivery resulted in an enjoyable and inspirational evening.
