Year 13 Fieldwork at Murlough National Nature Reserve

22nd Feb 2017

Year 13 Geography pupils undertook fieldwork at Murlough National Nature Reserve as part of their course. Jo Whatmough, the first National Trust warden at Murlough guided us around the dune system. With over fifty years of knowledge about this special ecosystem, we were privileged to benefit from her wealth of experience. We then measured a number of elements along a transect from the shore, inland. Although the weather was quite variable, overall we were very lucky, particularly as Storm Doris hit on the evening of the last day of our trip - a near miss!
