Ulster Rugby Recognition for Down High Stars

16th Sep 2016

Down High School’s excellent reputation in rugby continues unabated, with a number of players being selected for representative honours. Zac Ward was included in the Ulster U19 squad to face Munster in Cork last weekend. Meanwhile, Claytan Milligan, Robin Wilson and Lewis Finlay were in Ulster Schools’ U18 side who also took on Munster. Claytan has now been elevated to the U19 squad for the next match against Connaught.  Lewis and Robin will occupy both half-back slots for the final match of the inter-provincial campaign against Leinster, playing scrum-half and out-half respectively for the U18s. This match - on Saturday 17 September - will be staged at Pirrie Park, with kick-off at 1.30pm.

Head of Rugby Mr Knox praised the students on their achievements. “Not for the first time, Down High pupils have risen to the top of the schools’ game. Hard work, commitment and a love of the game bring great rewards. Well done to all.”
