Robotics Event

31st Jan 2018

Last Monday Year 9 pupils from Down High School made the short journey to St. Patrick’s Grammar School for a Shared Education Robotics workshop, facilitated by Sentinus. They were shown how to program a robot and completed short tasks in groups.  The final activity was to create a program which would take the robot along a race track.  Pupils enjoyed the opportunity to put their problem solving skills to the test and to work alongside their peers from St. Patrick’s. Teams were judged on the accuracy of their programming, logical thinking skills and team work.  It was a very difficult decision as the standard was so high but the winners from 9D were Amy Smyth and Catherine McCusker (Pictured L-R). From 9L the winning group was Alicia Healey, Lauren Gregg and Anna Uhomoibhi (Pictured L-R)
